Waiting for the Sun

This image is from the same location as my last post, just before sunrise. It’s a 20+ image double row stitch with the 50mm 1.4 lens then cropped to give an image size of 200cm wide @ 300dpi.

Light Layers

Here’s another image from Victoria looking out from Mount Buffalo, as warm as this image looks we got down to -4 on the way up to this spot.

Sunset at The Cathedral

This image is from Mount Buffalo, Victoria. Taken well after sunset with the last bit of warm light hitting the rock face.

Hills in the Mist

With last weeks bad weather in SE Queensland I headed west of the sunshine coast looking for new images. This one is taken in the Malaney/Montville area under thick morning mist. This is a 10 image stitch with the Nikon D800e and the Nikkor 70-200mm F2.8G ED VR II.

Morning Glow

I headed out for sunrise on Thursday, I drove for over an hour in the pouring rain to Point Arkwright near Coolum hoping for a break in the weather right on sunrise. I stood in the rain for about 30 minutes waiting, the sun broke through for about 2 minutes. It was still raining while this was happening so in between wiping the lens off I managed to get 2 useable frames that didn’t have water on lens.

Epson International Pano Awards 2012

The third Epson International Pano Awards is dedicated to the art of panoramic photography. Advances in digital photography and software such as PTGui, Adobe Photoshop, Kolor Autopano and Easypano Panoweaver has resulted in an explosion in image stitching, especially in the panoramic format.

The Epson International Pano Awards showcases the work of panoramic photographers worldwide and is the largest competition for panoramic photography.

I entered 4 images for this years Pano awards and they all scored well, here are the images and results.

My Noosa Storm image also made it into the top 50 coming in at 40th. Here’s the link for the top 50 in the Open Award Nature (including landscapes).
