Shorncliffe Pier

The Shorncliffe Pier has recently been closed off by the Brisbane City Council due to safety concerns. This is impacting significantly on community events, local businesses through loss of trade, and our enjoyment of the Shorncliffe beachfront. Please show your support by signing the online petition to SAVE THE SHORNCLIFFE PIER HERE. This is an image I took at the Shorncliffe Pier on Monday night.

Nice moody image Ben, it’s very frustrating having over regulation or public liability gone mad! I hope they open it back up real soon!

    • Thanks Tony, yeah it’s insane that they let it get to a level where they had to close it.

  2. Mr. Messina, I stumbled upon your blog when looking for D800e photos. And I’m glad I did. Your photos are (as others said) inspiring. And what a “back yard” you have. I’m switching from the MKII to the D800e myself and was wondering what lenses you’re now using with the D800 that you believe do justice to this sensor. I hope you don’t mind this technical question; your talent goes far beyond the equipment in question.

    • Thanks for the kind words Shy, at the moment I’m using the Nikon 16-35 f4, 50mm 1.4 and the Nikon 70-200 2.8 mk 2, I only shoot landscapes and all of these lenses perform great for my needs on the D800e.
